My 2 cents on this matter is that it all depends, on the magazine it's sold with.
If the aftermarket banana mag is removed and replaced with the original 10 rounder it would be a no sweat legal transaction.
On the other hand if the banana is one of the kind that can be easily removed and loaded then replaced it's of doubtful legality. There is also "fixed" bananas that have to have the complete trigger assembly removed, to be mounted on the SKS. If the magazine on the SKS shown is this type it would probably be legal?
On second thought, I also think the folding stock is a no-no and would cause legal problems, even if the original 10 round mag was replaced on the rifle.

The mag is the "quick change-out" classification, but not called
detachable. It has the duckbill that hooks in, and is all one piece.

There is ( 2 ) types of these duckbill SKS mags. They both appear the same with a cursory inspection. "BUT" one has "LUGS" added to the spine that enables to work only as a fixed mag, i.e. you have to remove the trigger mechanism to get it to fit and function, like the original 10 rounder.0 -

It is 100% legal in MOST states (except CA, for sure). The assaut weapons ban has ENDED, folks........so now you can put folding stocks on, high-cap mags, etc......

Sorry, but you are technically incorrect with repsect to the SKS Rifle. The AW Ban had little to do with the SKS. The SKS is more influenced by bans that were imposed prior to the 1994 ban and a few Presidential decrees that have become law due to congress failing to reverse them.
It is illegal to take a rifle and convert it to a configuration that is prohibited from importation. Semi-automatic military styled rifles that have bayonet lugs, folding stocks, and detatchable magazines are prohibited from importation. In order to make this legal, it would have to have enough US made parts to qualify it as a "US Made" rifle. That would include changing things such as gas piston, magazine floor plates and followers, basically add enough US made parts to make it technically qualify as a US made rifle.
It is a felony to take an SKS rifle and convert it in such a manner unless the necessary quantity of US made parts are added. It wouldn't be too difficult to add those parts, but to be legal, it needs to be done. You can visit http://tapco.com/ they have a lot of the parts necessary to make such a rifle legal. Do a search for SKS, then look look at gas system parts. They have such parts identified as "US Compliance Parts" in the ads.
