Manhattan pocket pistol
I have recently acquired a Manhattan Arms .36 caliber pocket pistol, 4" barrell, serial number 2531. It has "Manhattan Fire Arms Mfg Co. Newark, NJ" on the barrel, along with the date "March 8, 1864." The cylinder has the date "Dec 27, 1858."
The pistol was given to me by my grandfather who purchased it from a man in the 1940's for $5. The man found it on the banks of the Olmugee River in Macon, Georgia. It is in fair condition.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Per "Flayderman's Guide" it appears that your revolver is a Manhattan 36 Caliber "Navy Type" "Series V". It was manufactured after the Civil War in the late 1860's just prior to when Manhattan Fire Arms, went out of business in 1868.
He values it at $400 in Good condition.
