High Standard Supermatic d.o.m. & value?

I just purchased a High Standard Supermatic .22lr and am curious as to value & date of mfg. S.N. is 446xxx marked on r.h. side of frame.
Below s.n. is marked S-100. It has white plastic grips, clean checkering with thumbrest on the left side and high standard emblem near the butt of both grips (plastic looks like mother-of-pearl).
4" bbl. has bbl. weight & raised rib. with what looks to be porting (2) or muzzle brake? Bluing rates 90-95% with wear on edges, etc. no rust, pits scratches. Rear sights are original, and also has original magazine. Sorry, I can't post pics.
I also understand the value may be what a person is willing to pay.

Hello DOM my info says that serial range of model S100 ended at 443,000 the serial you give should be late 1954 and a model 101 ???? Is the barrel take down a triangle ot small round push button. BoBski is the top man on these pistol he will be along . 0 -

Hello It sounds like you have a model 101 round take down latch and 446 serial Maybe a left over slide or H.S. marked S100 on the 101 guns the barrel also sounds right for model 101 White grips also a puzzle I bet BOBSKI can shed some light on what you have. 0 -
I would concur that it appears to be a Series 101 pistol, not only because of the barrel takedown arrangement but because I do not believe that the barrels of the first Supermatics were set up to accept the muzzel stabilizer. Where is 'ol bobski when he is needed?

bobski, bbl. is marked 'supermatic' on left side,
high standard mfg. corp., hamden conn. usa, 22 l.r. on the right side.

ok, bbl and frame are correct for being a model 101. circa 54. now, take off the bbl and slide. look at the serial number of the frame on the top of the slide rails. does it match the serial number on the slide? 0 -

great. you have an early 101 supermatic. leftover s-100 slides were used to build the first bunch. 444,000 was the approx starting number for your guns design. your design gun ran from 53 to 57 ending at 770,000+/-.
tell me...is the face of the slide and the face of the chamber flush?

yes, for most of the mating surfaces, with the exception of about
1/8" near the raised bbl. rib.
I can see daylight thru that area, probably less than .010
BTW - any explanation of the white grips?0 -
white are aftermarket grips. want a new pair?> email me! you got a 101 supermatic small pushbutton dovetail takedown hi standard. it was known as the 'transition gun' that won many award in its day. the 4.5" bbls never came factory ported. only the 6 3/4" did. sounds like you have an aftermarket assessory that attaches to it. does it attach by sliding on to the groove under the bbl or is it slipped over the muzzle?? 0
