Ruger 22 target pistol DOM and value
Buddy of mine was given a .22 ruger (mark II possibly)with bull barrel, ports on either side of front sight on top of barrel, and target grips. SN is 113xxx. Anybody know when this was made? It's not in the best of shape as far as finish is concerned (holster wear, dings etc) but will make a good little plinker. Are these pistols rare or pretty common? I've never seen a MK2 with bull barrel and was really surprised at the ports in the barrel.

My 2 cents is that the only way your (6) diget serial number agrees with Rugers on-line records,

is that the pistol is a rebuilt 1950's era Standard Model that has been refitted with a Bull Barrel. To the best of my knowledge Bull Barrels Mark 1's didn't come on the market until the early 60's.

Looks like '55. No biggie if it's not original; the condition would keep it from being anything more than a plinker/shooter. It's certainly no model 41. 0
