Semi auto pistol what will fit

I'am about to purchase a new semi auto but would like some advice.
I have a form arthritis and find I have lost some width to my grip. I also find that the recoil from some guns makes my hand very painfull.
What I need to know is what semi auto has a narrow grip but is heavy so as to take some of the recoil out of the shots. I can reload my own ammo so will save some recoil this way. I have fired the Glock but to painfull a Browning 9mm was also sore. I have tried a 40cal CZ with down loaded rounds and found this better. Is there a 9mm version of this gun .Any other hints that can help keep me shooting will be greatfully received.

    What about a full-size 1911 in 9mm? With thin grips and full checkering, it shouldn't be difficult to hold on to at all. If more weight is needed, you might see if you can put together a long slide with a 9mm barrel.

    You may also want to try a Sig 220 Stainless. Very heavy gun in .45acp. They also make 220 Sport with compensator.

    Otherwise I would recommend you stick to 22lr.

    I agree with the 1911 9mm, but if you are going to reload your own ammo, I would go with a 40 S&W using either a 180 gr. or 200 gr. bullet. This is a very low recoil bullet. where as the 9mm would be a little more snappy. I load both and my wife would rather shoot the 40 because it isn't so snappy. I would also recomend you look at the springfield tacical XD. my wife has very small hands and she handles this gun very well.

    Well, I guess the heavier the better! You might want to try a CZ52 as the 7.62x25 is accurate and the 30 caliber bullet won't generate alot of recoil (although the flash is a little daunting). It also has a nice narrow grip too! Put some decent adjustable sights on it and you would be ready to go.

    What about 32 wadcutter? Or 32 S&W Long? A friend is standing here and brought up the Smith & Wesson model 52? Get one of those in 38 Spcl wadcutter and it sounds like you would be in business!
