winchester 101 diamond grade date of mfg.

[:p]I have just bought a winchester 101 diamond grade combo with serial # DG477975E and would like to know date of mfg. and any good or bad times anyone has had with this gun.

  since you said combo im assuming it is a "TRAP" combo. if it is the oversingle, meaning the single barrel is is in the top position, it was built in 1987. as that was the only year they were produced. if it is the unsingle, meaning the lower barrel position. they built more of those. they were discontinued in 1987.
  I just looked at my oversingle combo the first three of the serial number are DG550. so figure yours around 4 to 6 years older than 1987.
