L1A1 Replacement Stock

I have a Century Arms L1A1 "Sporter" with a thumbhole stock. I want to replace the stoch with a traitional stock and pistol grip. Which stock do I need?

    "...a shape and pebble grain finish..." Not all of 'em. There are wood stocks too. However, you do need to know what receiver Century plucked out of the parts bin for your rifle.

    "...you'll first need to replace..." It's not imported. It came from Century. Their QC is crappy, not their legal Dept. Mind you, you may need to replace parts to get the rifle to work properly.

    Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to use enough US parts to keep it legal. I do not need those problems.

    This question has no simple answer. First, the L1A1 designation in "Century speak" means very little, at best a crudely assembled copy of the SUPERB FN-FAL. Most seem to function to some degree of reliability, a tribute to the excellent design, despite the moaning and groaning of us purists who feel if it is not "preban" it isn't much. At one time it was the offical designation of an inch pattern country, Britain I believe. The USA, Canada, Britain and Australia were the major inch proponents.
    Most of the above answers seem to be aimed at the upper receiver which, for all practical purposes, has nothing to do with the stocks. In fact, I have assembled inch barrels on metric receivers much as Century did, except I feel I did a better job.[;)]However, the lower receiver, or the part which attaches to the butt stock is where a great deal of difference exists. Century used a USA made thumbhole stock to get around the "separate and distinctive" pistol grip provision and it also counted as two USA parts. With no muzzle brake (flash hider) and a USA upper, piston, hammer, trigger, and forearm, they were home free. If you have the inch configured lower, then you need to use an inch butt which can be plastic (generically speaking) or wood. The varations and combinations are seemingly endless. The pistol grip is also different. Unfortunately Century, in most cases, removed the stud that attaches the pistol grip to the lower. This part must be replaced before the grip can be attached and since the trigger return spring and plunger are housed in the grip, it is quite an important part. As far as the forearms go, just about anything will work, with "just about" being the operative words. I have seen "L1A1s" with STG58 type forearms and bipod, all wood, no bipod, Century plastic with and without bipod, etc.

    I have an auction on fleabay right now that has a L1A1 stock. Its not an American part so not legal for your rifle. But if you want to look at it just type L1A1 in to fleabays search.
