Thinking about buying the field 111 20 guage. Looks like real nice upland gold inlays on reciever. Anyone ever shot one of these guns or know much about them? Also, what should I pay for this gun?

  Hello, just a quick question on the Weatherby Athena O/U. What is one worth in EC, only had one round in top barrel and one round in bottom barrel fired in it. It is 12 gauge with screw in chokes, a beautiful blond wood colored stock and silver engraved sideplates. No gold inlay. Single trigger also. Any idea on worth?

  I don't own one, but have shot them at a range.
  Pistol grip is a bit rounded, nice walnut wood, handles like an SKB.
  Value is $1250 in VG condition. Pretty with the inlay.
  
  No special shooting abilities or superior metal to any of the others like SKB, Browning, Beretta, etc. Just another medium grade gun that looks nice. If the price is right it should be a great gun for you.

  Thanks for the response. Ill think ill go ahead with the purchase. I own an skb and Im happy with the way it handles!
