Streamlight M3
I own an Insight Streamlight M3. I mount it on the rails of a G23 for home defense. Recently at the range I fired a few rounds with the light installed and it fell off the frame several times. Yes, it was installed properly accroding to the manual and common sense. I was shooting Black Hills 165 gr. JHP. I don't plan to regularly use the light during target shooting, but it seems that it shouldn't fall off the gun when you need it. Can anyone give advice? Please try to refrain from the usual "smart-as*" comments that you sometimes give. I'm looking for real suggestions, not to be berrated.

I have the M3X light. If I remember correctly the light should of came with two pieces to mount on rails, are you positive you used the correct one?
The light should not just slide off the gun during firing, you should have to push the lil tab in to get it off. Make sure you used the correct cross bar to attach the weapon to a Glock.
If all else fails call Insight up and inform them of your problem and if they give you a hard time just inform them you belong to several firearm forums and will flame them till your very last day. [}:)]0 -

Thanks for the input so far. It did not come with two pieces. It snaps into place just fine with the crossbar. I can not manually try to pull in forward and off the rails. The recoil must be jarring it loose. Maybe a defect in my light? I don't know? I'll contact Streamlight this weekand post the outcome 0 -

Does the entire unit come off the pistol? Or just a particular piece? Instead of pulling forward like you would do normally to take it off, try pulling it straight down to see if it will release that way. Hard to believe recoil will take the light completely off.0
