Pre 64 question

Hey guys, where can I find the aprox age of my pre 64 mod 70. There is only 5 digits, 257 Roberts? Wondering the age, is there a website I can check?

    What are the five digits?? Five puts it between 1937 and 1948

    The data base for Winchester serial #'s on that sight are not always correct.

    According to that site it is 1947. 67828 is the serial number. It is in 95-99% condition. I call it the laser gun, if you miss its your fault. It has a 2.5-7 weaver scope, very fine crosshairs, with the adjustments in the base. My grandfather bought it and my uncle bought it from him. Gramps bought it around 1950 scope and all.It has never been touched. Stock still original finish and little to no dings in the bluing. Hooded front site still intact. What is this worth? NOT FOR SALE guys!!Just curious.

    You bet hang on to it. Just about any 70 in .257 Roberts is considered and priced as a collectable. If it is really 95-99% it might well bring more if you were selling it at retail.

    It is really in that shape. It hasn't seen sunlight in 15 years. Maybe 2 boxes of shells shot thru it in the last 25 years. Just been admired and a conversation piece. It will stay around as long as I'm around.

    ...just look at this site and others, the 257 brings more than BlueBook would take a lot to get my 1952 issue. Keep it, enjoy it, and respect the family history in it...
