.22 cb rifles?
Does anyone know what different kind of cb rifles are out there and where to find them any info would be helpful.

No, there is a .22 that is half of a .22 short called a cb cap I was wondering if anyone knew where to find a rifle or how many different rifles there are for this.. 0 -
I dont know of any rifles chambered just for the 22 CB cap. You can shoot them in most 22's. I have a winchester model 74 22 short that I shoot the CB's in. It functions about 60% of the time properly.
It is easier to get forgiveness than permission.0 -
Hello Glock....
There are a large number of Belgian/European Flobert style rifles that were made specifically for the .22 CB and 22. BB Cap cartridges. The only U.S. maker that I am aware of that specifically chambered a rifle for the .22 CB was Winchester (the Model 1885 Single Shot), and those were all made before the year 1908. Winchester did not make very many of them. It is possible that Stevens may have made a few, but I have never run across one.

The .22CB is dimensionally the same as the .22 Short and has the same 29 grain bullet. So all pumps and bolt guns for .22 Short will work. At about 1/2 the power, though, you won't have much luck with a semiautomatic unless you start clipping coils off the bolt return spring and even that may not work. 0 -

A 22 CB Cap is NOT dimensionally the same as a 22 Short. It is only marginally longer than a 22 BB Cap. A good graphic representation can be viewed at this link - http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=148886

Bert and Glock, I just measured each cartridge. Results are:
CCI DART .22 Short: OAL .681"-.683" (10 measured)
case length .415" (average of 5)
ELEY Solid Bullet CB CAPS: OAL .686"-.689" (10 measured)
case length .402" (average of 5)
I looked at the linked picture and don't see a short and a CB cap side by side. I do see 2 BB caps with different style bullets. I was surprised to see that the CBs are actually slightly longer than the Shorts, even though the cases are a little shorter.
Th side of the box on the CBs says "These cartridges have a reduced powder charge and are designed for use in firearms in good condition and chambered for the .22 Short rimfire cartridge."

Hello Rob...
I should rephrase my original statement. The original 22 CB (Conical Bullet) Cap was essentially identical to the BB Cap. Modern made 22 CBs are not the same as the originals. The picture in the link shows from left to right;
1. 22 BB Cap
2. 22 CB Cap
3. 22 Short
4. 22 Long
5. 22 Long Rifle
6. 22 Win Mag
