1911 how to choose?
When it comes to the 1911, everyone is making one. Wether it's colt, smith & wesson, kimber, para ordinace, or the trusted springfield(now being made in brazil), how do u choose. I'm looking at the springfield stainless longslide in 45 auto, but do any other manufacters make a longslide? thanks

Hello the long slide came into being for target shooters wanting a longer sight radius the first ones were made by welding 2 slides together. Jimmy Clark and others made them . This became a moot point when most target shooters went with red dot sights. Les Baer Springfield and at one time AMT HARDBALLER made longslides. Imho I would look long and hard before I decieded on a stainless longslide I THINK THERE ARE BETTER CHOICES IN A 1911 TYPE. "PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN" 0 -
Kimber makes a good gun if your looking to do some work to it. Otherwise Springfield is the way to go. Or you could go with Llama if you plan on NEVER shooting it[:)] I agree with Perry though, there are better choices than longslides. 0 -
It really depends on how much money you want to spend. If I wanted a bullseye gun I would buy a Les baer or Rock River. As far as a production gun goes, I would most likely buy a Kimber.
