    It was made in 1854. Pitting indicates that it was rusty, but someone removed the rust.

    Whatever your friend paid, that's the value.

    Rebel James, your 1851 Navy is a Third Model and was made in 1855.

    Blue Book value is in the $800-900 range.

    FranceF....we'll need to know a lot more about your revolver. Is it a .44 cal. 1860 Army, or a .36 cal. 1861 Navy. Please give us the Serial #, and all of the writing on it, exactly as it's written. Are the cylinders round or fluted? How many screws in the frame? Is there a "U.S." stamp and any inspector's marks? And.....condition, condition, condition!

    Can you post some nice, sharp, pictures of it????
