.411 Hawk, .375 Scoville
I am interested in turning a 30-06 Remington 700 Adl into a .411 Hawk or a .375 Scoville after reading about them in Rifle magazine. I was wondering what a price range for reboring and rebarreling would be. I was also interested in fire forming the brass. i am assuming that this means shooting loaded brass in the rebored rifle so it forms to the bore. i have tons of 30-06 brass and don't want to spend $1 a piece for brass or spend $60 for a box of bullets. if anyone has any information on these wildcats i would like to learn more about them.

i looked at that site the other day. i thought they seemed a little high and i mainly think it had to do with they were the people who came out with the calibers and thought i could get a better deal elsewhere. i also thought they were a little high so they could push their custom guns rather than reboring and rebarreling your old rifle. this is the site where i found the bullets for it and decided that they were not worth $1 per piece of brass or $3 per cartridge.

You may not have the option to deal with anyone but Fred. If these are considered propietary cartridges, nobody will make a reamer or die set except fot Zeglin.

well upon second look at the site, his prices really weren't as bad as i first saw. the rechambering is only $105 and the rebarreling is only $335. i thought the price was $455 to rebarrel and $335 to rechamber. i just picked up a 30-06 BDL on the cheap and can get the gun the rechambering and rebarreling for under $800. the problem is he has an 8 month backload on his work. Also, am i correct on my interpretation of fire forming?

Aren't the hawk cartridges made from the 9.3X62 brass? I honestly don't know. But if they are made from 06 brass, dump in some bullseye powder, top it off with a wax plug and hold it verticle to hold the powder against the primer and let it off. Should fireform to the chamber if you have used enough bullseye.

no all these cartridges are based on the 30-06.
