rem 700 customization?
I just purchased a used Remington 700. It is a 30-06 heavy barrel synthetic stock. I am interested in various options but am limited on funds. Where could I start especially if I am not sure if I might change the tock or other major factors down the road. E.G. what services/accessories would better be left until last. I would like to stay with the current because it has barely been used(only a few rounds). Is there a problem with this? I would like to have the trigger work done but do not know where or what to have done. If I do stay with this barrel I would like to have it threaded for a muzzle brake and possibly a suppresr down the road. Sorry for all the questions. This is the first bolt gun I have owned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. should I convert to A BDL instead of the ADL or is this mainly preference?

i would start with a trigger job. second, bed the action to the stock. if you do your part, you might be surprised what it might do. i have an older BDL in .270 that shoots 1/4 groups or less 3 shots if i do my part.of course, it's not stock, i done all the work myself. you might look at an h-s precision stock, if yours just has the plastic kind. then you would not need to bed the rifle. my 2 cents. 0 -
What 260 said will be a good start.
A lot can depend on what stock you have on it now.
Most of remingtons heavy barrels had a HS precision stock on them
unless its a older one, and someone changed it.
As far a converting to a BDL, that is a matter of personal preference.
