Where can I buy supplies to parkerize small parts?
How difficult is it?

Done several parts and recievers. Easy to do very tedious prep if you want it it come out right. Go on ebay or here to get the supplies and directions. I will go and get the address for you.

I picked up a booklet at a gun show on "home parkerizing", as I remember I paid like $7 for it. It did a good job of laying out the process and requirements. The basics were good metal prep, a dilute solution of phosphoric acid and a stainless steel container to boil the parts in. Must, I really stress this, have to do this in a very well ventalated area! You can hurt yourself if not careful breathing the fumes. In many way it is much more practical then home hot bluing. Find a copy of that booklet and go from there. A pint of concentrated phosphoric acid from a local chemical supply shop was like $10 and would make up like 3gal of dilute solution. I don't do this anymore as I have easy access to good bluing now.
