Widener's Shooting Supply is offering this Hertinberger 9mm + P + as submachine gun ammo.
Any idea if this is okay for modern 9mm hanguns such as a Beretta 92, Astra A- 80, etc?
Seems like it would be alright as long as one is aware of the extra recoil.

    Any comment welcome as usual.

    thanks

It depends on what the Manufacture of your gun says about shooting +P+ ammo in your particular firearm. I would say that I wouldn't shoot it in the Astra for sure. the Beretta is maybe, a Glock go for it.

Hello even if your gun will shoot this ammo it will wear out your gun faster. My suggestion is to shoot mild loads for pratice this will let you learn how to hit what you want without hurting you or the pistol and then buy some good JHP to carry. It is like a car if you run it wide open it will wear out faster.

I bought some of this a couple of years ago to shoot in my Ruger P-85, but first I called Ruger. The person on the tech line told me it would shoot it just fine. She also said, if I was going to shoot a lot of it to change the recoil spring once in a while to keep the slide from beating the frame up.

    Contact your firearm manufacturer.
