British 1911

My friend has offered me his British contract 1911.
The ser is W58xxx. The slide is marked "calibre 450" with the
"0" in a slightly larger font. The pistol shoots standard .45.
We are trying to come up with a price that is fair to both of us.
Blueing is 80-90%. Can anyone offer a ballpark price range?

  According to the Blue Book, the World War I British contract pistols should be marked "CALIBRE 455". If the marking has been altered this denotes conversion in the U.S., after the war to standard 45 ACP Caliber.
  
  To my way of thinking the above would seriously affect the price, no matter what the condition, as it couldn't be considered a original British martial pistol.

  Hello this pistol was shipped in sept 1916 as stated by rufe - snow it should be in 455 eley cartridge

  455 ELEY is a Rimmed case.....455 WEBLEY AUTOMATIC is simi-rimmed..and quite Rare....the 455 Webley Automatic was adopted by the British Navy....Slightley less power than the .45acp and also had a Blunt Nose Bullet as opposed to the standard round nose bullet.....If this is truly a British Contract Colt 1911 Automatic Pistol the value is going to be guaged by its rarity...I'd estimate its worth in excess of $4000.00 in the condition You discribe....Best...
