Super Blackhawk problem...

Hello all:

I recently picked up a used 10.5' Super Blackhawk .44; I love it, but the last time I was making some noise, the entire ejector assembly suddenly parted company with the rest of the gun...I figured that the screw had simply backed out, but further inspection found that the screw was stripped, and the former owner had used what looks like some kind of epoxy to secure it back in place. Upon detailed inspection, the threads might even be stripped out of the barrel. All I know is that I cannot get the screw to hold now. And, no, the screw is not sheared off in the barrel.

So: Is it worth the time to attempt to order a new screw from Brownells or Numrich, or do I need a new barrel (requiring a talk with the local firearms emporium that sold it to me)?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Super Glue to the rescue. Check with Ruger.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    call ruger. i am betting they will replace the barrel and any worn parts for @25.00 been there and done that

    Ship it to Ruger for an inspection and repair Estimate....Then You will have a factory Guarantee if its Salvageable............

    thats a one hour repair job by any competent gunsmith. Clean up the hole and prep for silver solder. solder a plug in place with low melt silver solder 450 degree easy flow, clamp the ejector on the barrel, set up your drill press and drill and tap the new hole.

    I had same problem but I caused it myself!?! Sent it to Ruger and they repaired it FREE! This was about 6 yrs. ago but you know how somethings change.
