Ok ya'all I gotta ask, If you lock open the slide on a Glock and remove the mag. Can the slide be released and closed ?
Was told it couldn't be and I don't own a Glock to check.

Don't be fooled by what those two charactors will tell you, the Glock is a single use pistol. After a full magazine is fired and the pistol is empty the slide locks back permanently and the entire handgun must then be shipped back to Austria where technicians will release the slide to allow for another firing session and the gun will then be shipped back to the United States. When the magazine ban/limit was in effect this was a real problem but now that the higher capacity magazines are available again you can fire up to 15 shots before haivng to return the pistol to Austria...a big improvement. There is hope that the US Glock facility in Georgia will soon be able to release the slides on these pistols but until they get the technical help from Austria this is probably just a pipe dream. Glocks are nice pistols but the international shipping costs between the USA and Austria after firng each magazine gets very expensive if you plan to shoot the gun very much!

I'm not big on pocket pistols, but I seem to recall a European .380 that has no external slide release lever. When the mag is empty the slide locks back and inserting a fresh mag releases it, or something similar to this.
Maybe someone got their Euro-pistols mixed up when they described this feature to Endlss.0 -

The intricacy of exporting firearms tremendous so just send your pistols to me and when I get enough Glocks together I will hand deliver the entire shippment to Austria with a typical turn around time of about 3 to 6 months. In addition to my usual fees I will also need first calss air fare to Vienna along with a stay in a five star hotel...three or four weeks should be plenty of time, as well as an S-class Mercedes for use as a rental car. Spring time in Austria is fabulous and Vienna is a beautiful city.
