Scope Mounted 3/8" Above Barrel...Too High??

After mounting my new scope i noticed it is sitting around 3/8" above my barrel.I was hoping for 1/8" but.....

Would 3/8" be too high?? It's strickly a paper shooter from bench.

Oh....i have not bore sighted it yet,would it most likely be high on the target or low before my adjustments.

  Hello I would not worry if you can see thru the scope when you bring the gun up to shoot. I know that I will get flamed but the only disavantage is you must be very careful to not cant the rifle . If you want to look at the range for normal big game hunting with the bullet path + or - 3 inches from line of sight a scope 3 inches above the bore will give you more range.
