Dan Wesson Arms Nickel plate .44 mag
I own one of these .44 mags with the interchangable barrel sizes. However I have found it very difficult to find any info on them outside of one guy on the net who apparently is restoring one. Does anyone know their value? Are they rare? I have not seen one for sale since I purchased mine. It looks like a great shooter (mine has never been fired, as i hesitate until i know its value) and Dan Wesson has a seemingly good reputation akin to Kimber... does anyone have thoughts on this?

I haven't seen the nickel plated version, but I used to have the stainless one. It was the best shooting 44 Magnum I have ever used. Prices don't seem to reflect their value. Search for them on the auction site, and you can get a rough idea on what they are actually bringing. Do you have pics?? Do you have the complete kit in the Dan Wesson box that has the tool, extra barrels, extra grips, extra sights?? 0 -
When I was in the business, the original Dan Wesson revolvers had a excellent reputation, specially with the steel shooters. Unfortunately they had financial problems and the business was reorganized into a different entity that subsequenty went bankrupt. The present Wesson firearms corporation is the third firearms manufacturing entity to carry the Wesson name. And all there products seem to be 1911A1 clones, don't know if they even make revolvers any more?
In light of the above, as the previous poster noted, "Prices don't seem to reflect their value". As far as your revolver is concerned I would try to trace it's background to see which of the Wesson Companies made it and if the nickel plating is factory original. Get hold of back issues of the "Gun Digest" from the early 70's when Wesson went into business, until the mid 90's when the second company went bankrupt. The catalog section of the older G. D.'s are a really valuable tool for doing reasearch.

Yes, i have the complete kit (you know, it probably is stainless, i just wasn't thinking when i typed nickel) . it has the 2 barrels, the "tool" (for changing barrels, sights etc)the 4 or 5 sights, the two grips, the manual, the patch, the case, the keys, and all on a sesame seed bun.0 -
i have the complete set in 357.its a great shooter.if you contact dan wesson factory they can answer alot of your questions and maybe point you in the right direction.i have contacted them in the past for parts and info and they were a great help.
