S&W Model 469
I am looking at a S&W Model 469 9mm, nickel finish. It has a couple of wear marks on it where the finish is gone, other wise it is is good shape. The seller is asking $250.00 for it. I would appreciate any help in determaining it's value, and would love to hear comments on how it handles and shoots from anyone that may have shot one. Thanks for your help..

Asking price is about right for a pistol at around 90% w/ 2 mags. You might want to see if the seller will come down a bit. With small spots of finish missing $225 should be closer, but you can see the pistol and we can't. If the pistol only has a single mag. then I'd definately go lower.
As for how they shoot, I have a pretty large hand but the finger extension mag. makes it manageable. Like with the majority of the Smith double action semi's the trigger pull is a little to the long side. Accuracy is nothing to shout about as this is not a target piece, but with a modest amount of practice you should be able to park a full mag. (timed/sighted fire) on a paper dinner plate at 25 yards, offhand. And rapid fire the same with the paper plate at 5 to 7 yds. and that's about all you should expect from it.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
I had one awhile back and the accuracy was poor, probable due to the lousey trigger pull. I thought the 469 was a blued gun? Aftermarket nickle on yours ? 0 -
Incarceration may be on to something. But, it could be a satin nickel version (with an anodyzed frame).
This gun has an aluminum frame, so the frame really couldn't be nickel plated.
