9mm ammo
i recently purchased a S & W Sigma series SW9VE. i am not very familiar with handguns, and would appreciate any info on what is the best 9mm ammo maker and what is the best load to use for basic shooting. anyone out there able to share some knowledge?

It appears that in today's climate that if I want to pick up some 9mm plinking ammo that I'm going to have no alternative other than some import brands I'm not particulary familiar with. Anyone have experience with Wolf, Silver Bear, or S&B and which is the preferable brand since they all seem to be priced reasonably close? 0 -
If it feeds other brands of ammo with no problems then its just the cheap winchester ammo. 0 -
Could be a magazine problem. My Baby 9mm has digested slightly more than 13,000 rounds to date, most of it the wally-world's Winchester 100 round value packs. I can count the number of failures with factory ammo using my fingers-except for the number I had with one bad "gun show special" magazine that just wouldn't feed right. Stick with quality aftermarket or factory mags only.

I only have factory mags a 10 and 15 rd happens with both mags. It's more of a problem with the spent casing staying in and another round trying to feed.

Well, that is a different problem than your original description. That would be an extractor issue. Make sure the extractor is not binding and that it has good pressure and make sure the bolt face is clean. In my circle of shooting buddies, there are several Baby Eagles and they have been utterly reliable for all of us. If the problem continues once you have verified that the extractor is working properly and is not damaged, then send the gun back to MRI with a detailed recap of the problem.
Note: If you have been in the habbit of single-loading the gun (putting a shell directly into the chamber, then dropping the slide) you may have bent or otherwise damaged the extractor. This is not an adviseable practice with any firearm.

P.S. I really love the baby eagle, best handling gun I've owned in a long time.

Winchester white box is loaded to min. power levels and will not extract in some more sensitive guns. I have learned this in my Special weapon 9mm carbine. It has never jammed with wolf, also chea ammo 0 -
I had a similar problem with Winchester White Box 9m/m with my Star BM. Other ammo works fine.
