Glock G19 vs. Beretta 8000 in 9mm

I am not a Glock fan because I hate their triggers, most have poor sights out of the box and their grip simply does not fit my hand very well. On the flip side, these are very simple and rugged pistols with very few parts and can take a heap of abuse...but very few civilian shooters are going to abuse their firearms. I prefer the 8000 Cougar and although it is a bit tricky to disassemble/reassemble the first few times, you will soon get the hang of it.

Damn, didn't think I'd ever disagree with MC! But:
1. Most pistol 'encounters' take place at 21 feet, or LESS! More often than not, it's at arms length, or at most about 10 feet.
2. Meet me at the range and bring your Beretta. I'll bring my Glock.
3. YOU LOSE!
Why do you lose?
1. The Glock trigger. (the one MC hates)
It's hard to explain, but I'll try.
2. When you pull the trigger on any semi-auto pistol, once it fires, you have to release it to get ready to fire another round.
3. Glock's probably have the shortest 'release' point of any pistol to fire another round.
4. That short release point can help in really rapid fire. At the 3 yard line, (where our pistol qualification starts) I can put 5 rounds in the 'kill zone' before the first piece of brass hits the ground.
5. I just wish Glock made a similar trigger for my AR-15!

My vote is for the Glock. I shoot it better. I like th 19, 23, 32 and the 20. My 2 cents [8D]

The Glock 19 shoots far better than I would have expected. With a Ghost connector, any trigger problem is solved and I actually like the stock sights even though they can always be swapped out for something more preferable. If the gun fits your hand, you need not look any further.

I HATE my Glock 21 and I LOVE my Glock 21. The HATE came from having to buy a barrel to shoot lead bullets, I bought a match SS barrel with comp. I bought adjutstable sights so it would hit where I aimed. All those extras cost me over 200 bucks [V].
I HATE the trigger and still don't understand the parts needed to make it better. I HATE the way it looks and feels, it looks like a 2X6 nailed to a 2x4 handle, it feels worse.
I LOVE the fact that no matter what, no matter how dirty it is from shooting or how nasty it is outside, when you pull the trigger it goes bang every time. That is a very good thing. It is a tack driver with the factory barrel and hard ball ammo. Its even more accuracte with the match barrel and match grade lead wadcutters.
But I still hate it. [;)]0 -

GLOCK IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!!!!!!
I do put fiber optics sights on all of my guns now.... Getting older, and it makes a big difference in how fast you find your front sight......[:D]
