Walther P1 police 9mm

Can you guys tell I'm a newbie?
Any thoughts on this gun as a shooter. Reliable? Problems? Any information would be welcome. Mark

i bought a p1 west german police model from my local gander mountain

and i consider it one of my favorite guns. i don't know about the problems some people report with the aliminum alloy frame breaking, i've had mine 3 years and shoot it all the time.

mine has a wonderful weight (nice and solid, but not cannon like) and it has a natural pont of aim. easy to see and use sights...

i paid 300 and got a leather holster cleaning kit and 3 magazines.

Mine had the slide crack, but was an early one. If it has the reinforcing stud in the frame, you should be good. The double action trigger is not at all pleasant, but mine was reliable as can be with all ammo I tried in it.

mine also shot any and all ammo i tried. i've heard people say that it can be kind of picky, but i never had that (or any) problems.
