    My reference notes that Browning used Sako actions for some of their rifles between 1963 & 1974. Being that your rifle is chambered for the 7mm Mag., it was probably built on a L-61 action.

    My 2 cents, given that it's not original with the laminated thumbhole stock, the collectors value would be nil. A collector of Browning firearms wouldn't have any interest unless it would be in factory original condition. It value would be equivalent to that of a reworked ( not factory original) hunting/sporting rifle with a Sako action. Unfortunately rifles equipped with laminated thumbhole stocks aren't everybodys cup of tea. Unless it's priced to sell, more then likely your going to have to sit on it for a while, till mister right comes along.

    Being it dates from the 70's, I would pull the action out of the stock to see what shape it's in, underneath the wood line. Browning had big "Salt Wood" problems during that time frame. Possibly thats the reason the rifle has been restocked?
