What kind of quality are Rossi pistols?

    I have an old rossi mod 68 [wood grips] that except for 5 shots is and looks unused.This a truck gun only.Ithought bout takin it out and firing it a few times and cleaning it and noticed ammo i bought years back is[ Plus P],safe or not for what i use it for?[This is a 38 spec. by the way]Thanks,Paul

    It depends on "when". Rossi is now a subsidiary of Taurus, & they are now pretty good guns.

    Quality in the past has been variable. They have generally been safe & reliable, but the fit & finish was below what US makers produce.

    I had one of their revolvers and it went out of time faster than you could say "poor quality."

    As nmyers said, it depends on when. Modern Taurus is good, but if it has the Rossi name on it, I'd steer clear.

    what about the quality of the single shot rifles presently being advertised?

    I have shot a Rossi .38 older model(early 90's i think) and it was reliable, accurate and pretty small to boot. I think they are fine revolvers.
