What scope on a budget?

Looking to scope a 7mm Rem mag. For shots out to 500 yards.Light gathering and wide field of view And I don,t have a lot of green to spend. Is this possible[?]

    For $200 you can get a leupold vx-2 or a rifleman with etheir 2x7 with 30mm obj dia or a 3-9x with 40mm obj dia. Check out www.calbelas.com for more info on them.

    I would go for a Burris FF II in 3-9x40. It is a great scope and it includes a set of binos, all for about $225.

    Check out a Bushnell Banner 6-18x50mm A/O(adjustable objective). Its really clear and gathers a good bit of light for late eve early morning shots. I've got one on my A-bolt 300wsm and its nice for the money($119 on GB). Some people will say that the objective lens is to big and bulky, but thats not true for me. I've got it mounted on low rings and its a perfect fit. It almost seems like that scope was designed for an A-bolt. Found one on the auction site that you can look at.

    Honestly you would be better served to save your money and buy a quality scope when you have enough saved. If you just can't wait, Bushnell Banner is a good scope for the price. It is not the equal of a more expensive, higher quality scope, but nothing inexpensive is.

    if you wish to shoot for groups,..I would doubt the integrity of a cheap scope to hold zero at 500yds consistently. Some will,..that is just luck of the draw with cheap scopes. I would go with a Burris Signature at the least,..them move up to Leupold LR and then up to IOR Valdada, Nightforce, etc.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    Sporting goods stores and pawn shops are the best places to look on a budget..Most come off traded in rifles and are every bit as good as the new of the same maker.Also keep an eye out for those that are guaranteed for life from best makers...No matter, new or used they stand behind them..My favorites are the discontinued Bushnell Scopechief IVs that have a pop up post.I've used them for thirty years on varmint guns and buy every one I find...Another favorite is the Redfield 2X7.Have one on my 270 since 1964 and it still is dependable and has never been taken off and not adjusted for the full time it has been there. But then I shoot the same bullet and use the same powder and primers..Just my double pennys worth.modoc
