    Of course this is not ballistically correct, but...it's the same basic difference between a .22LR and a .22 WMR. The .17 Mach II is necked down .22 LR brass and the .17HMR is necked down .22 WMR brass. Sorry if I made this too simple. Better? For what?

    Hi Zack,

    Please use the link below. It will link to a post which contains the ballistic tables for each cartridge you asked about compared to a 22LR. Please note that on this post the ballistic table is for a 17 HMR with a 20 grain bullet instead of a 17 grain bullet. MV for the 17 grain bullet will be about 2550 FPS.

    Well, since you can get the ballistics and make that comparison for yourself, the only thing I really have to add is this:

    The .17 HM2 is a whole lot quieter than the HMR. It has a slightly sharper "crack" than a .22 L.R., but is pretty comparable in volume.

    It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.

    Nobody asked for this but it was interesting to illustrate the below chart of the trajectory for both the 17 Mach 2 and 17 HMR with the same bullet weights.
