Remington 710 30-06
What can anybody tell me about the Remington model 710 in a 30-06?

I was looking at one of these yesterday, and it seems like a decent rifle for the price. Anyone have any good or bad feedback on these? Also, can they be loaded through the ejection port like the Remington 700, or does the magazine have to be completely removed for loading? 0 -
Run away fast they are not worth it at all. 0 -
The 710 is a crappy model, pay the difference and get an Adl 700 or the Howa Its money well spent on something that should last the rest of your life. 0 -
Nah man don't get a 710 go with the 700 ADL. There are to many bad features on the 710 to have to worry about. The barrel is pressed into the stock, so you can't put a new one on it if you ever need to. The bolt throw is horendous and rough, it has(or had) plastic inserts in it which caused to to break in half in some cases.
Two good things are that it comes with a pre bore sighted scope, and a removable mag. In reality you'll be much happier with the 700adl even if you have to save a little longer.

They said it but get .270 its a lot better and there is nothing the 30-06 can do that the .270 cant[:D]

You would be better off with a used 700 rathern than a 710. Intended as an entry level rifle is is a junk rifle. .30-06 is a fine choice if it is to be your only or main rifle. Greater choice of ammon than .270. 0 -
I expect that as soon as Remington runs out of their initial production run of this rifle, it will be discontinued with extreem forcefullness......any old piece of **** is better then the 710. 0 -
Thanks for the input...decided not to get the 710. However, just picked up a new-in-box Winchester 70 .270 for $250.00 at one of the local pawn shops. I just couldn't pass it up. 0 -

Good buy! The model 70 Winny has been around in one form or another for about 70 years now! Even the inexpensive versions are well made and have several desireable features including the popular 3-position safey and an excellent fully adjustable trigger. Remington made a mistake with the 710.
