    The normal variance between barrels is greater than the difference between fixed breech (bolt or single shot) and gas operated semi.
    If the barrels were identical (hard to do), the MV difference might be around 10fps. IOW not enough difference to worry about between the 2 systems.

    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

    What tailgunner said. The gas tubes in semi auto rifles have very little volumetric capacity and most of the velocity is established before the bullet passes the port anyway (usually about 2/3 down the barrel), so the pressure loss will be negligeable.

    It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.

    Big difference is a bolt gun will handle more pressure than a Semi. ie a M700 PSS to a Armalite AR10, both in 308.
