Gold trigger on Brownings...
Does someone know why Brownings has gold triggers or how the idea came about? Not all Browning guns have them..

According to the Browning Customer Service Department in Salt Lake City, Utah,
the gold trigger is purely for decoration and aesthetics.
The design goes back at least 25 years, according to "Joe".0 -
The gold trigger goes back a fair bit further than 25 years... I own a Lightweight 20 gauge A-5 that was made in 1962 and it has the gold plated trigger on it.
As for what the gold trigger signifies, I am not sure. I do know that it appears to be on all of the "Lightweight" versions of the A-5 though.

I was told along time ago that it was to keep the trigger from getting rust from the sweat on your hands as gold doesn't tarnish or corrode. My 1954 Superposed had a gold trigger.

He also handles a great job of blueing, parkerizing, nickel, silver, hard-chrome, and of course 24K gold.
Just tell him "Venry from Radical" sent you. He'll gold plate that trigger for you real pretty... and then some!

I'll go along with TRAP55 on this one. Whether intended by Browning at the time or not as a corrosion preventer, I had an unplated trigger on a Superposed sieze after a salt water duck hunt. Although the gun was cleaned after the hunt, a little water apparently had gotten between the trigger and the frame and was not removed. A few months later, the trigger didn't want to move! Glad I didn't get charged by an angry Canvasback!!
