    Blckhrn, the red over silver is standard US marking for the APIT. Silver alone is API. The actual chemical composition of the loadings varies enormously with the era and nation. Frankly I don't know the specs for current issue loadings, but most incendiaries involve white phosphorus or a compound containing that chemical. Some tracer compounds have incendiary capability of their own, also. The bullet designs can be quite complex, in fact. If you post an inquiry on the IAA site rufe noted, someone more knowledgeable than I may be able to give you more specific data.
