    it all depends on your neck length. if youre looking at the back of the receiver, youre too low! if you have to bow down to see the rib, youre too high!

    Your best bet would be to "try on" a number of different scs's. When you find one with a perfect fit (a good shotgunner at the shop should be able to help) then you will know just what you need. It will differ some with different stock configurations.

    TKSIMS its not always drop at heel that can be the problem; it can be drop at comb. bobski and he dog are correct because if you're seeing only the top of the receiver and not the front bead, the drop is too much and if the rib on the bbl looks like a long straight highway, the drop is not enough. Keep trying shotguns until you find one that lets you see the front bead sitting on top on the receiver or frame for sxs. At that point either buy it or take measurements off of it. Also you could have a stockmaker build one for your exact size or do it yourself.
