Winchester 70
I would like some Winchester 70 experts to give me some advice on this 1954 .270. Stock has the correct metal Winchester butt plate.
Bolt is jeweled. It has a matte like finish on the barrel and receiver. Do you think these were special orders or added by a gunsmith? It is not a Super Grade.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Winchester 70 and 70a? I know it doesn't have the floorplate. Any other differences? I picked one up. It was made in 1976, I don't believe it's ever been fired. Absolutely pristine.. I want to scope it and use this fall if it's a decent gun... Thanks

Pre-64 is the best..but have restored a 225Win and a 220 Swift from '63/64 and I love em. The floor plate vs "no" floorplate is similar to the Remington 700 ADL / BDL concept. What caliber? 30-06 or 270 are great period

On the Winchester 70 it is a .308 cal. Any Idea of it's value..???
