8mm Rem Mag to .325 WSM
How difficult would it be to rechamber a Remington 700 BDL in 8mm Remington Magnum to .325 WSM? Seems like ammunition would be easier to come by than the 8mm Rem Mag's is.

If you're asking about doing this to a factory barrel, it wouldn't be done. The 325 WSM is shorter than the 8mm Rem Mag. so the threaded tenon would have to be cut off and then a new tenon cut and threaded then a new chamber could be cut. The unfortunate part of this plan is that the breech area of a factory Remington barrel doesn't have enough material left to do this after cutting off the original tenon.
If this is a custom barrel then we would need some dimensions from that barrel in order to determine if there was enough breech area left to work with.

Why change it? The 8mm mag is one of the best all-purpose big-game cartridges available. The 325 WSM will never be it's ballistic equal and brass is just as pricey. Remington and A-square still make 8mm mag brass and Sierra has a nice 225 gr. spitzer that should fit the bill for just about anything.
PS-Since you have no cantact info, please e-mail me. I have been looking for an 8mm mag for some time. This is not an appropriate forum for posting a want ad, but I am hoping the admin. will cut me some slack since you have not listed your contact information. My E-mail address is Critterslayer375@aol.com
It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.0
