Colt ACE slide
I have a heat treated parkerized slide with adjustable rear sight(COLT?).The right side is marked COLT SERVICE MODEL ACE (in a diamond) .22 LONG RIFLE.Left side marked COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO.HARTFORD,CT with patent numbers and Rampant Colt.There are no ser #s or serrations visible on top of slide in front of rear sight.Top of slide is rounded as in .45 Cal.It is complete and is mounted on a blued 1919 Colt 1911 frame with rework stamp AA left side above the trigger guard.Please help me ID this item.Thankyou,Tommy

It sounds like the slide is an original 1940s vintage Parkerized Service Ace slide. Such a slide will not have a serial number on the top of the slide. (Only the Pre-War Conversion Units have a "U" serial number stamped on top of the slide as mentioned.)
Depending on its actual date of manufacture, the slide may have a serial number under the firing pin stop. If it does, and you post the number found there, the approximate age of the slide can be determined.0
