Im really thinking about getting a gun in this caliber. How hard does it kick. Is it comparable to a 12 guage? Any help would be Great[:D]

It is about comparable to a .30-06. Depending upon the stock and load, usually a tad less. 0 -
Westlund-not to be rude in any way, but a lot of the questions you post here are answered in factual detail in "Cartridges of the World", originally authored by Frank Barnes. Most local sproting good shops have it on the shelves, runs about $25. Very informative and also has some reloading data.
That said, the 7mm rem mag is "the other" do it all caliber. It and the .30-06 are the most versatile western cartridges around.
It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.0 -
I just bought a Savage 7mm mag on Monday. It kicks like a mule with winchester 150 gr power point. To me it does not compare to a .30-06. I shot 7 shots on monday and I still have a bruise. A .30-06 has never did anything like that to me. 0 -
Any gun is going to kick on the range. You will never fill a thing while firing at a deer. I've been shooting a 7 mag since I was 14. It's a pain in September but pays off in December.

So its not really a gun you could take to the range ever weekend

if you don't like kick get a 22. i love it, i shoot my 300 mag Ruger #1 30-40 times a setting. if you are really worried about it that much at the range, go with a 25 cal or less. if you really want a 7mm mag just keep shooting it and you will get used to it. it will only kick as much as you think it does. as my dad always says, "Pain is good, extreme pain is extremely good."

great caliber----buy one!!! if you are truly worried about recoil (not that this caliber is bad in any way) get the Win. Mod. 70 with a B.O.S.S.---ears will hurt, but it makes it a powder puff on the shoulder. 0 -
Put a muzzle brake on, when I go to the range I feel the recoil, but out in the field, never have....

I had a Remington 700BDL in 7mm mag for a couple of years and went up to a 300 Magnum. To me it felt to have about the same amount of recoil, but better in available bullets weights and energy levels. 0 -
Iam another fan of the .300 Win Mag. The elk that I have shot were very impressed with it also. 0
