240 wby mag

I am thinking about buying a 240 wby mag barrel and putting it on a mauser action but i can find vary little on the cal. its self and rather the orgional bolt will work or if i will have to get one specialy made? Also how is the recoil?

  the 240 W is a fun caliber, sends the light bullets screaming. Best accuracy with mine is the 87 gr HP. Recoil is like a 220 swift. Bolt face is the same as 308. This case needs slow powder to perform and a sporter barrel heats up FAST. Loading very nearly duplicates the 6mm o6 or the 6mm 284

  Why are you going to re-barrel rather than just pick up a 240 Wby rifle? I haven't shot mine yet but it wasn't that expensive.
