Price check on BAR
Saw this one for sale today. What do you think it's worth? Browning Safari II semi auto, .300 Winchester Magnum, with BOSS device, Leupold VariX III 4.5-14x50 scope with adj. objective, Leupold mt and rings, sling and hard plastic foam lined case. Condition is excellent, I'd say 95% or better. It can be had for $775 OTD. I put a deposit on it to hold it till tomorrow. I liked everything except that it's very heavy and I don't now about the BOSS, I've never shot a rifle with one. Suggestions?

Sounds like a fair deal to me. I searched the main site and found that the Safari II in 300 win mag and is priced under $900, and the Vari XIII scope with the 50mm Objective is bout $505. I killed a few deer when I was younger with my grandfathers BAR in .270. Talk about a fine rifle.

Buy the gun.

You have found a steal. The rifle itself sells used for $700 to $800. At the price you stated you're getting a $500 scope for free. 0 -
Thanks! I'll buy it tomorrow for sure. I'm glad I paid a deposit. 0 -
Is it wood or synthetic?

It has a really nice high gloss wood stock. I hate synthetic stocks. I only have one,a Ruger All-Weather M77 in .338 Magnum. On second thought, make that two, there's a synthetic stock on my Mini-thirty as well. 0 -

There are a lot better deals in your neck of the woods than in mine! I would hurry back and haul that BAR home. Its better than a good deal IMHO.
