Old Colt auto pistol in 38 ACP

I picked up this Colt automatic and would like a little info and possibly a value.
Slide is marked: AUTOMATIC COLT
CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS
Other side of the slide is marked:
PATENTED
APR. 20,1897, SEPT. 9, 1902
COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO.
HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.
SN is 43343
Gun has about 70%-80% blue, some light surface scratches, and a few small dents in the wedge (?) near the front of the gun. It came with one two-tone Colt magazine marked PKT. COLT 38 CAL. The hard rubber grips are in very nice cond.
Where can I get some disassenmbly instructions? What sould I be looking for when I do take it apart? Is it safe to shoot? Where (and how much $) can I get ammo for it.

    It appears to me to be a Model 1903 Pocket with External Hammer. It's chambered for the .38 Auto Cartridge. This is NOT the .38 Super, even though the external dimensions are the same.

    Colt made a whole series of these pistols chambered for the .38 Auto Cartridge starting in 1900. They are mechanically identical, although they differ in size.

    Disassembly instructions? To field strip (to remove the slide) make sure there is no round in the barrel, remove the magazine, at the muzzle push in the button below the barrel, while holding the button push out the slider from left to right, take note of its orientation to avoid error in putting it back, pull slide to the rear free of the receiver. Any further disassembly become gunsmithing.The barrel stays linked to the receiver.
