S&W 500 Scope and Monuts
What Scope, Mount and Rings do the experts recommend for the S&W 500 8 3/8" want to know what will hold up to the recoil.

Ive got a 454 Casull, and the last time I was looking around for such, I was told that none of the major manufacturers would warranty their scopes that were KNOWN to be mounted on a 454 or 500. So you could go that route if you get my drift. I ended up getting sold on (with some hesitation) a lesser price/poular/known brand that was offered with a lifetime over-the-counter-no-questions-asked replacement. I got it at a local sporting goods store, so I dont know if any other stores do the same. So far I have yet to break it with MANY hot loads and have not treated it nicely. The optics are very comparable to the big boys, and its eye relief seems better than other pistol scopes I tried out (Burris, Leupold). It is a Sightron. A lot may say otherwise, but its been good to me IMHO if your not out to drop $$$. 0 -
