H&R 1871 or new england firearms one in the same. Cheap and reliable in my experience.

    Hello shiawassee...

New, or used[?] If you are looking for a used shotgun, I would definitely recommend picking up a pair of Winchester Model 37s, but the 28 ga. is not going to be cheap. The Model 37 was in production from 1936 - 1963.

You could also pick up a Winchester Model 370. The 370 replaced the original Model 37 and was in production from 1968 - 1973, or you could find a 37A (the 37A replaced the Model 370) which was in production from 1973 - 1980.

I do not have a personal recommendation for a factory new gun... I don't buy them unless they are pre-64 Winchesters[^]
