Winchester Mod 1200 - 1500 XTR

Will a Winchester Model 1500XTR fit a Winchester Model 1200?

    What parts are you wanting to exchange between the two?

    If I'm not mistaken, the Winchester 1200 is a pumpgun.
    I've had a Winchester 1500XTR myself - that's a semi auto.

    Hey I'm sorry for the incomplete question. I was wanting to no if the barrels would interchange. I saw a listing that stated a model 1500 barrel would interchange with a Model 120, 1200, 1300 & 1400.

    Well you would have a problem with the barrel from a 1500xtr on the 1200 pumpgun, as the 1500 is still a gasoperated semiauto - and it is the steel ring that clamps the barrel onto the magazine where you'll encounter problems.

    That steel ring have two 1/5" to 1/4"holes that lead from inside the barrel to the magazinetube on the 1500xtr where the gaspiston is.

    So if you put the barrel on a pumpgun, the barrel would slowly fasten itself in unburnt powderresidue if the holes are not plugged.
    If it fit - I still wouldn't do it. But thats me.


    As mentioned - you ought to check up with Winchester before doing it.
    The parts might interchange, but on too loose tollerances.
    If anything could wreck or blow up - they would know it.

    Short answer
    Yes the 1500 barrel will work on the 1200-1300
    Long Answer
    Yes they will but when first firing them on a pump gun the gas port holes in the 1500 barrel will fill with grime and grit and eventualy seal up and become unsusable on an automatic until cleaned out. Of course 1200-1300 barrels will fit on but not funtion the action of 1500-1400 automatic shotguns due to the lack of ports.
