THE M-12 IS SUPPOSE TO WORK THAT WAY. IF YOU FIRED THE GUN THE RECOIL WOULD PUT THE FOREND FOREWARD AND UNLOCK THE BOLT (ACTUALY THE FOREND STAYS PUT AND THE REST OF THE GUN RECOILS BACK).

Good morning Bill and everyone else: Well according to Riffle, very early 1937; (1937 S/Ns 720137 - 754250) He's a little more accurate than Maddis, or the blue Book.

Another unique feature Bill, if you keep the trigger depressed after firing, as you comple the cycling and the forearm goes all the way forward, it will fire! Some Trap/Skeet shooters liked this on doubles. As a duck hunter, I liked it too, as I'm sure other hunters did/do too! Regards Dave
