270 wsm
I am looking to buy a 270 wsm. I am thinking about the Savage or the Tika. Which is the most accurate? Is the 270 wsm a good shooter?

i have a 270wsm in the savage. took it out today and gettin 5 inch group at 100 yards. but at fifty it is better. loading 58.5 grains of imr4350. suggestions on this. raise powder or lower? 140gr hornady sst. just not acceptable for me where it is now. thanks 0 -
My Winchester 270WSM weighs about 81/2 pounds with the scope. With hunting loads the kick reminds me of something in the 30-06 to a 7mm mag. range. Not my first choice for 50 rounds at the range but a very good choice fot hunting game up to mule deer size.
Maybe I'm just getting soft but for all morning at the range I prefer my Colt HBAR, CMP, AR-15 and/or a 12 pound .308 target rifle.0 -
The recoil may be strong because the T3 is only 6.5 pounds. I put the Sims limbsaver T-11012 recoil pad on a T3 270 WSM S/S (it fits the T3 so you don't have to grind it down) and the recoil was fine. My 14 year old shot it and it did not bother him .
I sold it and I am buying the same thing in the blued barrel. Both were barely used do to the recoil was too strong for the original owners (kids) but I've heard the Sims pad is suppose to take up to 60% of the felt recoil away which is I why I swapped them before trying it.
EXCELLENT RIFLE!!!

Just a suggestion, but if you are sold on the short mags, look into the 7mm's (WSM or RSAUM). Bullets to suit a wider range of game and factory ammo is more available. Just a thought, but the .284" group has always had the edge over the .277".
It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.0
