Anyone have any experience with Triple K magazines or know of the quality of them?

quality of materials and manufacturing is top notch...
i strongly suugest that everyone buy the TRIPLE K catalog (hardbound collectors edition) as a referance work. its an invaluable rescource for the pistol owner...
if you have a pistol that is shown in there catalog, but they offer no magazine you are in luck...
they want your mag to use as a templete to produce copies and will reward you for service...
we have steered many obscure, obsolete, and out of production pistol owners towards there products. they also have a terrific line of leather goods, belts, holsters, etc...
occasionaly due to model changes / variants a mag does not fit perfectly, but there customer service dept. is very helpful in those situations...

mrmike, you serious about those Triple-K mags? I always figured for the price they couldn't be any good. I would love to think I could grab a bunch of those at the price they sell for, and have some reliable "working" mags.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

I have given Triple-K a plug many times on this forum. I've bought, used, and sold dozens of their magazines with complete satisfaction. The latest experience involved a Llama .380 pistol I purchased from the auction site last year. It was well rusted, but for some reason had a mirror bore. It came without a magazine, and I decided to try the Gun Parts Corp. They offered mags for the "Old Model" and the "New Model". Of course I knew that beyond the "New Model" was the Micro-Max, and that this definately wasn't one of those. The gun looked so terrible that I decided it must be an "Old Model", and ordered a single magazine at more than I wanted to pay. When it arrived I found that it was just a bit short to feed, and wouldn't lock into the magazine well. Conclusion: Had to be a "New Model", despite appearance. I ordered 3 mags from Triple K, which they did not currently have in stock, but planned a production run on in 90 days. Dealers get a 40% discount on 3 or more mags for the same model firearm. That gave me plenty of time to disassemble, check, and reblue the Llama; and sure enough, after almost exactly 3 months the mags showed up, and functioned perfectly. The advice to buy their Encyclopedia is good advice, because it has excellent line drawings of many obsolete semi-auto pistols. I recommend Triple-K! 0 -
the dealer price is great...
the more obscure, oddball, and obsolete mags can get expensive...
you can get great deals on specials and in bulk quantity...
there an absolute must for any dealer or someone who collects...

Hate to be the spoil sport here. I bought 4 nickel plated Triple K's from Cabelas for my mini-14. Only two worked. Instead of welding the square piece on the back, its punched out. One was too wide to fit in the magazine well and the other one wouldn't lock into place. I am afraid to buy them now. 0 -

My experience has been the same; the Triple K mags I've owned have all been junk. That was just before the ban, 10 years ago; maybe things have changed.
I know there was (and still is) a lot of junk floating around from just before the ban -- manufacturers pumped magazines out with little regard to quality. Because of that, I know I wouldn't buy any aftermarket magazine without inspection or without a guarantee I can trust that "it will work or I get my money back." (I say that knowing that I may be selling some of my extra aftermarket magazines on GB; I'm expecting to have to offer a guarantee that they'll function if I want to move them.)

I also hate to be a spoil-sport. A few years ago I ordered several triple K mags for my Ruger mini -14 and at that time I was a "newbie" regarding aftermarket mags.
ALL the mini-14 mags were pure junk and I sent em back for a refund. At the time I was very happy tht triple K had such an easy to remember name because I NEVER WANTED ANOTHER ONE!

I just had my first experience with Triple K magazines since the Assault Weapon Ban was implemented in 1994. This was not a good experience. I ordered 10 CZ52 pistol magazines from Centerfire Systems (Triple K part # 1762) and all 10 magazines had to be pried out of the magazine well of the three CZ52 pistols that I inserted the magazines into. Triple K replaced all 10 magazines (they did not refund shipping as was promised). Of the 10 replacements, 4 of the magazines functioned properly and the remaining six magazines with varying degrees of tightness failed to be easily extracted from the magazine well of the CZ52 pistols. Based on this experience, I will never buy Triple K products in the future nor will I reccommend them to my Customers.

My opinion has long been that MrMike knows what he talks about. Yet I and many others here had bad experiences with Triple K mags. I am wondering if the faulty mags we purchased were NOT actually made by Triple K. It would be hard to tell since the manufacturers name was not stamped or listed anywhere on the ones I received from cheaper than dirt.
