I have seen some of the older ones have their bolts break in half where the pin goes through, that that was when pro-ord made them. There is a bushmaster forum over on ar15.com, and there are alot of people upset with bushmaster as far as orders are concerned.

There are other pistols to look at, especially the olympic arms oa-93, as well as lauer custom weapons version, or you can build one. Check out ar15.com for more info.

That, and if the sales guy is a jerk, go somewhere else, the gun industry has enough problems as it is without having dork dealers being jerks to customers.

I have one of the Professional Ord Carbon 15 type 97 pistols. As yekimak mentioned my bolt broke at the hole for the cam pin. It was quickly replaced by Pro Ord. This was before they were bought by Bushmaster.

Part of the compensator broke off causing it to fit loosely so I got a new one. The gun does seem to like my Canadian Thermold mags better than the metal GI mags. Now, I think I have all the bugs worked out.

As with many new products sometimes there are bugs that need to be delt with and this gun had its share of them. I think now that Bushmaster has taken over, the quality control has improved.

He stated that every Bushmaster Carbon 15 pistol he has ever sold had been returned to Bushmaster for repair.

I would have asked him how many he has sold?

If he's sold one and has returned that one to the factory for repair, he is telling the truth, but his (limited) personal experience is hardly something one can use to draw a conclusion about the pistol generally.

This is the first I've heard about there being any problems with them; Bushmaster doesn't have a name that is associated with "junk."

nambu...... I would stick with brass cased .223 with FMJ bullets.
I have shot South African FMJ, PMC FMJ, Federal FMJ, and my own reloads with 55 grain bullets. They all worked fine once I got the bugs out of it.
