Besides your Pardini which of the other pistols you recommended do you actually own and shoot?

I currently own a Pardini SP. I used to own a Walther OSP (very similar to your GSP), a S&W Mod. 41 with the long barrel (just like yours), and a Woodsman Match Target. Currently own a Woodsman (forgot which generation, dad has it right now). Of all the other guns I've mentioned, I've gotten a chance to play with all except the MG-2 and Feinwerkbau AW93. Also got to play with a Hi-Standard (don't recall which model except it had the rear sight mounted to the frame, not slide) but didn't get to shoot it seriously as it had right-handed grips and I'm a lefty and wasn't comfortable shooting it right-handed at the time.

hi standard guns with sights mounted on frames are the newer military frames. does your colt woodsman have the mag release on the bottom or a button up on top? button is 2nd issue. on bottom is 3rd issue. hope it helps. 0 -

Hey Bob, how does one generally mount an optical sight to a High Standard?
Can you do that on any model (for example, my '64 Supermatic Citation 104)?0 -
the old way was with an aftermarket grip mount. take off the left grip and screw it to the frame and it doubled as a plain grip and the mount.
the only other way is to screw a base to the bbl like the one below; or, buy a victor bbl that is already tapped for bases since it accepts the victor rib.([:)]) they use the same holes. since all pushbutton bbls should drop in, it would be the best way. and too, the new hi std sells these bases. see: www.highstandard.com.
heres my metalic silloette set up. its a plain 1X scope that does the job. it works well out to 100yds. one good thing about scopes mounted to the bbl is you will never need to dope it in if you switch guns. and with this set up, i can change to numerous guns and play the same game with one bbl. i prefer the 7 1/4" bbl with scopes so that the muzzle blast is far away from the front optic. i also leave the muzzle compensator off to blow the crud forward and not up. and since its fluted, the bbls extra weight isnt really a problem at all. i put the 2 - 2oz wts on to act as a forearm grip since met silo allows two hands to shoot the course and the wts help dramatically. my preference is rifle optics with the gun and sight close to my nose. note my scope is mounted canted. i hold my gun at a 45 deg angle when shooting but the crosshairs remain perfectly up down left right. now understand this, i only did this because the bbl i mounted it on was scratched and in need of a reblue, which i did, thus ruining its value as a collector piece. but i didnt care, i wanted to win at my game and the bore was perfect. please think real hard before butchering a valuable gun. there are already 100's of guns and bbls butchered to shoot. just hit the auctions, youll see them all.
